Latest hot topic in the sports arena is FIFA World cup 2010 and it has created an excitement all over the world. People are eager to know the schedule of the world cup and locations for the matches. Are you one among them? Then you are at the right place. South Africa will be the host for 2010 world cup of soccer. Games are going to be conducted in 10 stadiums present all over the country. In these 10 five stadiums are constructed newly and the work is going on and the remaining 5 is old ones and they are now being upgraded. Games are all scheduled from 11th June 2010 to 11th July 2010. 8 cities will host all the games and the cities are Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Nelson Mandela Bay/Port Elizabeth, Polokwane, Rustenburg, Mangaung/Bloemfontein Tshwane/Pretoria and Nelspruit. - Loftus Versfeld- Pretoria (near Johannesburg)
- The Royal Bafokeng stadium- Rustenburg (near Johannesburg)
- Soccer City- Johannesburg
- Vodacom Park- Vodacom Park (Bloemfontein)
- Peter Mokaba stadium- Polokwane (formerly Petersburg)
- Mbombela- Nelspruit
- Kings Park stadium-Durban
- Nelson Mandela Metro
- The Green Point stadium- Cape Town
24 teams are going to participate in the tournament and they are grouped into 6 groups i.e. 4 team per group. Groups are named from A to H. after the series stage there is going to be a round called as round of 16. Top 2 teams from each group will be selected and they fight between each other in this round. After this it is quarter and semi finals and then the grand finals on July 11th at Johannesburg at 20:30.
